Hundreds of ways to stay in touch... all paltry exchanges for the real presence of someone dear sitting across from you... or, two someone's. What a marvel is a familiar, but rarely seen face. What a delight is a predictable response, a reliable way to get someone to roll their eyes, laugh, be exasperated. What freedom, to come unhinged and be a little absurd, to be a little more like oneself... all earned by a long, shared history.
I was thinking the other day... if my life were a Rembrandt painting, the last few weeks have held many days that would be one of those luminous globs of paint that make up the gleam of an eye or highlight the curve of some fabric...
That was much more poetic in my head. What I am saying is: these have been bright days.
"God does not hold us accountable for situations. He might not even change them. But he does hold us accountable for our responses to situations, and the fruit or thorns we bear."

To believe in God (in truth) is the most important thing about me. Such belief or disbelief dictates all responses. To know the surety of what He's done, to hope confidently in who He is, to understand Him as faithful and powerful... He gives us thousands of opportunities to remember and believe.

it was "uncommon fun" for sure... that's the best way to describe it - I really hope it will happen again sometime in the not-so-distant future :) I hope my little Moriah will someday have such dear friends, and I hope she'll know my dear friends well!
